My name is Peter Andersen. I am born and bred in South Africa and currently residing in the UK. I am a qualified South African Tour Guide. I have been arranging tours since 2000. In 2014, I started a banger rally in the Western Cape and since then we have had 37 successful Banger Rallies.
What is the BRA?
“SAFAHOLIEXTURE”
Meaning: It is a safari, holiday, experience and adventure all in one for charity.
Let’s be honest, there is a little bit of humanitarian, philanthropist, motor-adventure-photo-journalist in all of us. This you will discover once you join the Banger Rally Africa. The excitement of driving a cheap old banger across the arduous roads of Southern Africa, just to prove that you can make it an irresistible quest.
It is therefore not simply a fund raiser, but rather a life changing event for both participants and our recipient charities alike. This is why our cars are colourful, vibrant, weird and fun. Our cars are essential tools in delivering our message of overcoming the unthinkable.
It targets the adventurist that is tired of boring, mold smelling museums and “seen that before” scenery. It can be described as a thrilling, blood pumping and “rely on your gut instincts to find out your still alive” adventure.
