Banger Rally Africa Rules
The rally takes place on roads and paths open to traffic with a partially asphalted, dirt, stony and sandy surface. For everyone’s safety and enjoyment, there are a few rules to adhere by. All team members will be required to agree to the full Terms and Conditions of the event.
Rule 1 -The Money stuff
Teams have to raise £1500. The car will be purchased for £1000. The £500 will go for fuel, MOT, Tax, Insurance and registration. The money needs to be paid in full two months before the rally date. This will give us time to find a decent car and ensure that it is mechanically ready.
Rule 2 -Driving Licence
You will need a full UK driving licence if you intend to drive. Your licence covers you to drive in South Africa.
Rule 3 -Passport
You will need your passport and Travel Insurance. No visa is required for stays of up to 90 days. Please check if you need any vaccination from your doctor. Please note it is not an malaria area.
Rule 4 -Team Size and fees
To ensure a quality experience, we have capped the tour at a minimum of 10 participants and a maximum of 20 participants. Minimum team size is two members and the maximum is three participants. Entry fee is per person sharing. £250 non-refundable deposit is required on entry. Entry fee must be fully paid two months prior to the rally. (Please note- if you want you can raise your entry fee as well.)
Rule 5 -Obey the Law
It is NOT a race. Stick to the speed limits and obey the rules. South Africa drives on the left side same as the UK. You may under no circumstances drink and drive.
Rule 6 -Anti-social Behaviour
We will not tolerate any form of anti-social behaviour. You will be asked leave. Please respect other people’s property as well as the property of the charity. After all we want to sell the car and need the funds for our much needed charity.
Rule 7 -Safaholiexture
Its an adventure. Enjoy every moment!
